OAI, Open Archives Initiative , was born in order to facilitate access and recovery of electronically edited academic material, ePrints, but currently it also provides with a very wide enquiry for digital resources, in general, and, more specifically, for bibliographic materials related to culture, science and digital education. This is a widespread standard that relies on a very simple message exchange protocol, and on record coding based on Dublin Core ISO 15836 metadata standard, which make possible to describe that kind of bibliographical information in a very simple and flexible way.
