The publication of the issues of the newspaper EL PUEBLO, diario republicano fundado por Vicente Blasco Ibáñez, begins.1

It is the most complete compilation of this newspaper, fruit of the effort of the Valencian Library Nicolau Primtitu, and the collaboration of the Hemeroteca Municipal de València. A total of 2,178 copies were digitized between the years 1895 (year II of the beginning of the newspaper) and 1939 (its closure).

The product published in BIVALDI corresponds to the magnificent 2018 digitization campaign, which among other elements incorporates PDF files subjected to an optical character recognition process, allowing the automatic and selective search of words in the text of each newspaper.

The whole project will involve increasing the digital fund of BIVALDI with more than 15,000 new digital objects.
